Is the ordinary and the sage: The ethical practice, situational gift and tune of “The House of Gate” in the field of “The House of Gate”

Abstract: As the earliest and representative country text in modern China, “The House of Gate”

The townships have integrated the collective style and the replantation of moral feelings into their daily life, making them appear as the coming situation of “commonness” and “morality”. Special sessions and gatherings create the need for public spaces to carry out shared activities, and use the time to convert people into collective ethical exercises; positive emotional infectiousness and physical aspects to touch the inner recognition of individuals and make them abide by situational gifts. The dual efficacy of the whole country in terms of individual adults and relationships: self-realization has the value of “ordinary and sage” beyond sexual and social nature; the human relationship builds a rural acquaintance society with ethical and emotional emotions. Country has become a gift-making norm and ethical exercise that Confucians wrote and revised for rural people since the Song Dynasty and public careers.
